Ericofon, i folkmun kallad Kobratelefon, var en telefonmodell i ett enda stycke för fast telefoni, som lanserades av företaget LM Ericsson 1956 och tillverkades fram till 1982. [1] Prototypen för Ericofonen utvecklades i början av 1940-talet av industridesignern Ralph Lysell och fick sin slutgiltiga form av Gösta Thames på 1950-talet.

En efterföljare till Ericofonen blev den av Carl-Arne Breger mera kantigt formgivna Ericofon DBJ 700. Den hade knappsats och tillverkades mellan 1976 och 1984 i bara 41 380 exemplar. Därmed var konstruktion och tillverkning av Ericofoner och andra svenska telefoner ett avslutat kapitel sedan Televerket lagt ner sin fabrik i Sundsvall 1989. The Model 700 "Centenary Ericofon" is the world's first solid-state one-piece telephone. Also, and perhaps more important for the subscriber, Centenary Ericofon is an introduction to HIGH FIDELITY telecommunications. The Cobra telephone is designed by Hugo Blomberg, Ralph Lysell and Hans Gösta Thames and produced by L. M. Ericsson, Sweden.

Köpte denna Ericofon 700 i tron att det var en helt vanlig,vit Kobratelefon/Ericofon 700. När jag testade den visade det sig att det är en tonvalsapparat,ingen pulsval som dessa annars är. Öppnade telefonen och blev ännu mer förvånad.Det sitter ett chassi i den som jag aldrig tidigare sett.

The Ericofon 700 -an upgraded version of the famous Ericofon- was the world's first completely electronic one-piece push-button telephone, and was designed to celebrate Ericsson's 100 anniversary. It was designed by the Swedish designer Karl-Arne Bregerhad and it's a more sober design than its famous predecessor, and was made in white, blue, orange and green.

They featured a touch pad dial, but were not TouchTone, they were "pulse" dialing only. There are only 5 different Ericofon 700’s if I am well informed. In the past couple of months I was able to get 2. In fact I was never intending to collect them because I fell in love with the old 600 model. But, as always, lines blur and you get carried away. They are also equiped with the 2 different dial faces there are for the 700 model.
